The library serves the Brown School’s social work and public health students, and its faculty, and staff, and graduates. 

The library, which is open to the public, is home to one of the finest collections in the nation in the fields of child welfare, community development, family therapy, mental health, children and youth, gerontology, public welfare, management of human services, and social policy.

“The library provides many services including course reserves, instruction on how to use any of our resources, and research support. Please feel free to contact the library for assistance.”

Regular library hours are subject to change during intersession, holidays, and inclement weather. When any of the listed conditions exist, please call before making a long trip to the library (314) 935-6633.  

Semester Hours 

Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 12:00 noon - 11:00 p.m.

Semester Breaks

Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: CLOSED
