Jessica Levy’s research focuses on the intersection between gender, poverty, and global maternal and child health. She aims to identify culturally appropriate interventions that promote gender equality and improve reproductive health and development outcomes. Levy is also a faculty scholar at the Institute for Public Health and a member of the School’s Global Advisory Committee.

Levy has worked in underserved communities in the United States, Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. She has provided research support and technical guidance as a consultant for multilateral and bilateral governmental and non-governmental agencies, including large private organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Levy is also the senior reproductive health associate with Iris Group, a consulting firm working to enhance the inclusion of groups marginalized by gender, sexual orientation, economic status and/or race/ethnicity. She also co-founded and sits on the board of the Minga Foundation, a non-governmental organization that partners with community-based organizations to improve socioeconomic conditions and health equity among vulnerable populations.
