Our Innovative Approach
Individual Advising: We help individuals to: identify career goals and align them with the marketplace, conduct self-assessments and resume reviews, learn how to build a professional brand and strategic network, conduct mock interviews, and more.
Career Week: Each year, we host Career Week, a fun and collaborative opportunity for students to dive into a concentrated series of workshops, networking events, and panel discussions that help them focus their career aspirations and develop concrete next steps.
Career Communities: Current students can join our Career Communities, based on their chosen concentration, specialization and/or career interests. Regular meetings of these groups allow for a more focused approach on industry trends and the skills each community is developing as part of their Brown School education.
Symplicity Portal: This free online career management resource allows students to browse a variety of job postings, including on-campus research opportunities as well as permanent, post-graduation positions. Annually, more than 2,000 jobs are listed. If you are an industry professional who needs access to post a position, please contact Career Services to open a Symplicity account.
Job Placement: In addition to personal advising, we continually track where our alumni are headed after graduation so we can adjust our services in response to employment trends. View our most recent placement data.
Alumni Opportunities: In our Alumni Academy, Brown grads help current students chart their ongoing career paths, identify their skills and learn how to network. Lifelong career development opportunities are also offered to alumni from the Career Services team. We are always eager to help former students achieve their goals.
