Change is inevitable, but it does not have to cause disruption. This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the elements of thoughtful succession planning for human service organizations. We will differentiate the roles and responsibilities of the executive leader, board of directors and senior staff within the process. The importance of the organization’s commitment to and assessment of staff growth and potential as a critical component of succession planning will be highlighted. Best practices for assessing critical skills, experience, and competencies necessary for leadership positions will be shared, as part of scheduled regular updates to success plans. Class size is limited to 30.
