This workshop will enhance social service professionals’ skills in developing relationships with adolescent clients and their parents/caregivers. We will focus on effective communication and anticipating responses often seen with members of this group. PRIDE skills will be reviewed and practiced. A variety of anger management techniques will be presented, including the cognitive triangle and cognitive interaction figure 8. Participants will learn how to help clients change their definitions, and thus their responses to stressful or displeasing situations. Class size is limited to 45.
