Lorien Carter, MSW
Associate Professor of Practice, Brown School

Managing workplace conflict is often a challenge to organizations, regardless of their size, structure or service delivery model. Research indicates most employees avoid having difficult conversations with co-workers; even those in leadership positions often avoid addressing challenging situations with those who report to them. Left unaddressed, these issues can lead to a undesirable workplace climate, negatively impacting staff morale and increasing turnover.

This workshop will use a variety of interactive activities to present tools and strategies to assess personal conflict management styles and a framework for introducing and implementing constructive conversations.

Class size is limited to 30.
