Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness-based behavioral therapy that has been shown to be effective
in the treatment of a multitude of psychological problems, stress, and physical illness.  ACT focuses on increasing psychological flexibility through mindful engagement with valued behaviors.  It accomplishes this by teaching people to accept difficult thoughts, feelings, sensations, and memories, building mindfulness skills.  Through the ACT process, clients identify core personal values and commit to behaviors that are consistent with those values.

This introductory workshop will teach participants the basic theory and model of intervention underlying the ACT approach.
