This workshop will provide an overview on the mechanism of action of medications used in major depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia and psychiatric disorders of childhood. We will discuss the common adverse effects of each class of medication. In addition, we will examine strategies for social service professionals to assist the patients' compliance and understanding of their medications. Class size is limited to 55.
