This workshop will provide an overview of crisis intervention from a strengths based perspective. The strengths based approach to social work acknowledges the pain and challenges our clients experience, while focusing on the hope and potential sources of help and healing. This interactive workshop will include individual and group activities and will help participants identify personality traits that are and are not amenable to a strengths based approach. We will discuss strategies for avoiding compassion fatigue and for maintaining appropriate boundaries. Class size is limited to 20.
