Having a strategic direction is essential for rallying an organization’s stakeholders around a vision of how their shared mission will be advanced. Most agencies periodically undergo a planning process to shape and refine the agency's strategic direction. Strategic execution - the actual implementation of the agency's strategic direction - is equally important.

This course will include an examination of different models of strategic planning - how an agency develops a vision, goals, and strategies - and strategic execution - including action plans, dashboards, staff and management team implementation, and board committee implementation. We will review case scenarios and read current thought leaders on the topic.
