Most supervisors are aware that there are laws governing employment practices, but few agencies formally train supervisors on their legal responsibilities and best practices. This workshop will help build the legal and personnel skills of social service managers. We will review the roles of staff training, employee manuals, sound organizational policies, and documentation of employment matters, to help you assure your organization is observing its legal requirements. Particular focus will be given to laws that are applicable to mid-sized non-profits (as employers with more than 6 but less than 50 employees). Additionally, we will discuss several of the topics currently garnering headlines in Missouri employment law, such as social media monitoring and privacy. Class size is limited to 30.
