This workshop will focus on social work interventions with children who are currently in the foster care system. We will discuss diagnoses that are often present with foster children and best practices for addressing them. Among the special considerations we will consider are working with one or more parents who have been abusive to their child(ren) and working with foster parents. Recommendations for collaborating with the court, testifying in court, and writing court reports will be shared. Participants are encouraged to share non-identifying information about their own cases for group discussion. Class size is limited to 45.
