Everyone experiences anxiety. Usually, it is temporary and manageable. However, up to 1 in 8 children have an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders in youth are characterized by excessive fear, nervousness, or shyness that impairs functioning to the point of avoiding places and activities.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that has been scientifically shown to be effective in treating anxiety disorders in youth. This institute is designed to train mental health professionals in a brief 8-session version of CBT (BCBT) for anxiety disorders in 7-13 year-old youth. BCBT has been evaluated and is evidence-supported.

Class size is limited to 30.

This class will include both practicing professionals and graduate students taking the class for academic credit.
