Families serve a critical role in providing support, nurturance, and coaching for their children during mental health and suicidal crises. Engaging caregivers in the safety planning process to prevent suicide is an essential component of preventing youth suicide.
This workshop will review best practices in engaging caregivers in preventing youth suicide through education, skill building, and safety planning. Additionally, we will explore strategies to support youth re-engagement in school post-hospitalization or suicide attempt.
This class meets the requirement for at least 2 CEUs in suicide continuing education each licensure period.
