This talk will provide an overview of the landscape of substance use disorders (SUDs) through the lens of public health. Drawing on epidemiologic data, we will explore the prevalence, societal implications, and the intricate web of factors influencing SUDs. We will also examine the broader health and social repercussions of SUDs, the role of systemic barriers such as stigma and inequities, and the pressing need for comprehensive, community-driven interventions
