Angela Hobson

Angela Hobson teaches the Foundations of Public Health courses “Environmental Health” and “Epidemiology.” Hobson previously served as an adjunct faculty member at the Brown School and as an adjunct assistant professor in environmental and occupational health at Saint Louis University.

Hobson has over 15 years of research and practice experience. Previous research has included occupational exposure assessment methodology for Parkinsonism among welders, heavy metal contamination assessment in the Peruvian Andes, and asthma management programs for low-income students in urban schools. She has also worked as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist in Jefferson County, Colorado, where she conducted regulatory inspections of local facilities, instructed courses in food safety and investigated foodborne illness complaints and outbreaks.

Hobson is a member of the steering committee for Washington University’s Environmental Justice Initiative, which focuses on environmental justice issues by raising awareness, bridging the conversation between environmental and social justice, and building partnerships with community members.
