Introduction to Career Services

The Office of Career Services wants to be a partner in your career development throughout your time at the Brown School. We are always here to help you strategize and are passionate about your career sustainability.

As you look for fellowship, practica and/or part-time opportunities during your time as a student, we are available to assist. Our office provides guidance on a myriad of topics including resume/cover letter review, interview preparation, mock interviews, salary negotiations, and employer/alumni engagement. We offer one-on-one appointments as well as class workshops. We are constantly connecting employers to students via information sessions throughout the year, and are also in communication with Brown School alumni globally.

Our team will be keeping a completely virtual appointment format for the time being, but we are available to meet your schedule and your needs.

Keep on the lookout for the Career Services Fall Calendar for upcoming events and opportunities to connect, and make sure you familiarize yourself with Handshake, our system to register for events and view job opportunities—including part-time, on-campus opportunities.

Login and set up a Handshake profile
Handshake allows students to browse jobs and internships on campus, register for career fairs and employer events and connect with peers and access job-related news.

Note: On August 1, 2022 Handshake replaced Symplicity as the Brown School’s new career management platform. Students have access to Symplicity until the end of December 2022. Additionally, the Office of Field Education will still use Symplicity until the end of Fall 2022 for practicum placement reporting and approvals. Field Education will then join Career Services on Handshake in Spring 2023!
