Program Offerings

Workshops: Weekly training sessions offering Social Work Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are held regularly on Fridays and are conducted by local professionals, faculty members, and visiting instructors. These workshops cover a diverse range of topics, including research, evidence-based interventions, management, self-care, suicide prevention, ethics, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Both virtual and in-person workshops are currently available to cater to diverse learning preferences.

On-Demand Lectures: Created by Brown School Faculty and local professionals, Our on-demand videos focus on specific aspects of social work and public health practice. These videos are available for streaming at any time, allowing individuals to learn and earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at their convenience.

Institutes: Intensive courses ranging from two to five days focus on various skill-building in areas such as management, leadership, evidence-based interventions, data analysis, communication, diversity, equity and inclusion, and fundraising. These courses are aimed towards alumni, practitioners, academics, and graduate students, and provide in-depth training that is facilitated by our faculty, staff, and affiliated instructors. In-person and online formats are available, and each course offers 15 CEUs in either Social Work or Public Health upon completion.

Open Classroom: Live, online webinars led by faculty, alumni, and community experts to promote global community engagement. These free webinars cover topics related to social work, public health, and social policy, and new sessions are added every month. View more than 250 recorded webinars.

Advanced Learning Certificates: Cohort-based learning experiences aimed at career advancement. These focused programs, completed in less than a semester, cater to individuals looking to enhance their skills or explore new specializations. Designed for professionals with aligned interests, these programs welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and do not require prior affiliation with the Brown School. Application requirements may vary but are generally inclusive of professionals from various fields.
