The Brown School is an integral part of the St. Louis community.

The Brown School's Professional Development Program is designed to serve the needs of practicing social workers, clinicians, field instructors and human service professionals.  We offer a wide range of short courses pertinent to clinical practice and social service management, as well as more in-depth opportunities like Summer Institute and Inside the CEO. Our program leads the professional community in its commitment to innovation, renewal of skills, and integration of new learning into daily practice.

Our new Clark-Fox Policy Institute is dedicated to advancing social and economic justice locally and nationally by connecting evidence-based policy solutions to public awareness, practitioner training and policy decision-making.  We look forward to bringing the St. Louis community and beyond compelling policy-related programming, news and events.

The Brown School is also affiliated with the Gephardt Institute for Public Service. As Washington University‚Äôs nexus for service, the Gephardt Institute for Public Service promotes life-long civic engagement and sustained community impact.  The Institute collaborates with schools and departments to offer a range of meaningful opportunities for community involvement to students, staff, faculty and alumni.
