Clark-Fox Policy Institute

Established by the Brown School, the Maxine Clark and Bob Fox Policy Institute is a center for public policy engagement. Its mission is to advance social and economic justice by working collaboratively to connect evidence-based policy solutions to public awareness, practitioner training and policy decision-making.

Community Engagement

We are committed to being a resource and asset to the communities we live and work in. We’ve partnered with community-based organizations and initiated projects designed to maximize the effectiveness of their services. Our faculty and students are also engaging on a local level to fight social, economic, racial and health disparities through strategic, evidence-based practices. We’re proud of the work being done. Field Instructor Resources

The Brown School has active affiliations with more than 300 field education sites throughout the St. Louis area and across the world each semester. Our students complete more than 200,000 hours of fieldwork a year, and they benefit from on-site instructors who are dedicated to students’ professional growth. Grand Challenges for Social Work

The Brown School is a sustaining sponsor of the national Grand Challenges for Social Work. The initiative identifies a course to address 12 Grand Challenges dominating the social context in the United States by using science and research to correct the most serious societal ills.
