Yellow Ribbon Post-9/11 GI Bill Benefits

The Brown School is a full partner in the Yellow Ribbon Post-9/11 GI Bill Benefit.

Annually, the Brown School and the VA work together to cover 100% of tuition costs for 10 students eligible for Yellow Ribbon benefits.

Washington University is committed to ensure the success of all veterans in their pursuit of lifelong learning and leadership. Veterans groups provide camaraderie and support both at the Brown School and across campus.

The Washington University in St. Louis Student Veterans Association (WUVETS) works to advocate and support student veterans throughout their degree programs. In additional to their advocacy work, WUVETS hosts programming (such as a Veterans Day Celebration), and offers training for faculty and staff (including a Veteran Ally training). In 2017, under the executive leadership of two Brown School students, WUVETS was named Chapter of the Year by the Students Veterans of America, a national organization that provides resources and scholarships to college veterans.

“The Brown School stood out because of its ranking as well as the flexibility in its curriculum, which has allowed me to design an individualized degree plan and balance classes with work and family commitments. Yellow Ribbon is the reason I’m able to pursue my MSW today.”
